YSL Beauté Names Tom Pecheux Global Beauty Director

Yves Saint Laurent Beauté has announced French-born make-up artist Tom Pecheux as the new Global Beauty Director for the brand.

Pecheux will be ‘the force behind all future cosmetic creations’ and has a career spanning three decades in the beauty industry. Pecheux succeeds Lloyd Simmons who left the company after six-and-a-half years.

The announcement comes after the brand also welcomed newcomer, Staz Lindes into the beauty family. Pechuex will work across the brand in both development and future campaigns.

Stephan Bezy, International General Manager YSL Beauté, said, “I am delighted to welcome Tom Pecheux as the new Global Beauty Director. We are proud to collaborate with such a talent and creative mind.” she continued “Tom is definitely one of the most talented and famous makeup artists in the world today, with a brilliant career path.”

Pecheux’s appointment comes amidst growing demand for premium makeup. In November, L’Oréal reported that sales in the third quarter of its financial year rose by 5.6 percent accordig to BoF, beating analysts’ estimates, causing shares to jump to their highest level in nearly seven months.

Pecheux said in YSL’s Instagram announcement: “At Yves Saint Laurent we aren’t just selling make-up we are selling an attitude and that attitude is embedded in the colours, the textures and the materials.

“And I adore that about make-up, to create the tool to make that woman feel good or to feel sublime. I simply do not understand how one cannot take pleasure in making oneself pretty.”
