‘Skyshpere’ The Ultimate Hightech, Solar Powered Man Cave

Every man dreams of their personal Fortress of Solitude. Traditionally, the words mancave brings to mind a basement or den outfitted with a recliner, a massive flat screen TV paired with a bonerattling
surround sound, gaming console, and let’s not forget, a fridge stocked with beers; a pool table is optional but always a welcome addition.

Jono Williams, a graphics designer and plastic engineer from New Zealand, took the sacred ‘Man Cave’ to new heights, 33 feet to be exact, and made it the most desirable ‘Man Cave’ a man with means can hope to have! Having spent 3,000 hours and $50,000 (AU $71,157) so far on this project, the combined features of this panoramic Skysphere is something straight from the future.

This ultimate fortress serves beers right to your hand while you chill on the couch. The armrest of this futuristic couch in this futuristic cabin has coaster that goes down like an elevator and comes back with a beer on top of it. Experience a great entertainment system that can make every game come alive, whether it is on ESPN or your favorite console, all the while being 10 meters up in the sky, enjoying a remarkable view, depending on where you decide to set it up, the choice of view is in your hand.

When Jono was asked about the inspiration behind this marvel, he said, “Initially, my plan was to build a sort of structure in a tree or in between many trees, something more than an ordinary tree house. After fighting with one design after another for a few months, looking for inspiration to create something truly out of the box, I came up with Skysphere. Something that could withstand the elements for a long time to come, so I removed trees from the equation all together – it would be better to support this structure on a steel column one can fit anywhere. On a hilltop by the lake, a beach by the ocean, any environment people consider the most serene. The possibilities are virtually endless.”

Jono Williams managed to get all the details just right, especially the view. The structure is an all round circular window made from polycarbonate, providing a mesmerizing 360 degree view of the country side. If you were wondering, the couch’s armrest does in fact have a beer dispenser builtin; moreover it will even alert you when you’re stock of beers are running low, giving your girlfriend a text alert for the much need resupply, the app will hopefully say “please” so there’s nothing to worry about. If the windows aren’t enough to give you the view, step out on the platform built on the roof and gaze at stars.

Taking three long years to perfect, Jono describes the labor on the project of learning and love. He took classes to gain essential expertise and knowledge on how to make this ultimate man cave structurally sound and able to withstand winds and even earthquakes. Power by solar energy and operating through voice controls, the androidbased computer opens the motorized doors if the temperature inside gets too warm. Between four tons of steel, custom made, color changing LEDs, solar strips, a wireless sound systems, the Skysphere is a dream come true for any man that cherishes his private time.

If you are concerned about privacy, there is an option of an electronic smart film, which can go from transparent to opaque with electric current. There is a downside to it though; the Skyshere still lacks a restroom, meaning you will have to climb down the ladder every time you need to relieve yourself in the wilderness.
