The Wine Discovery Weekend is back to Singapore and this time it’s going to get bigger and better. The event scheduled on 17th and 18th October 2015, will have hundreds of different wines and special wine masterclasses by renowned winemakers and experts. With this year’s theme being ‘Discovering Exceptional Wine for Everyone’, the two day event will have 100 different wines from about 40 different wineries along with 11 wine producers and representatives of some of the best wineries in the country.
Attracting wine aficionados all over the world, this Wine Discovery Weekend will give them an opportunity to drink exotic wine and meet up with the best wine makers. And to top it all off, there are wine masterclasses organized for both casual drinkers and wine connoisseurs. Attending these masterclasses will not only give you more insight about wines in Asian context but you will also get to taste some amazing vintage sparkling wines like Champagne Boizel and Cabernet Sauvignon from around the world.
The first day will majorly include tasting wines from all over the world ending with a scrumptious seven course meal prepared by 1 Michelin Star Chef Jeremy Gillon, featuring wines from both Old and New world. The second day of the event will have a mouthwatering, family style Italian lunch courtesy of Pietrasanta and will feature some of the biggest names in Italian winery, including Isole e Olena, Nino Franco, Rivera and Proprieta Sperino. While the evening will take a Spanish turn with Catalunya featuring some of the best culinary exports from the vineyards and kitchen of Spain. A five course meal with five premium Spanish wines to accompany, this is guaranteed to blow your mind. The entire event will bid adieu with a wine pairing Bordeaux dinner.
Wine Discovery Weekend will also witness the launch of Asian Wine Lexicon, a movement by wine author Edwin Soon which is aimed at encouraging and increasing the use of Asian wine descriptors. Edwin is also set to host a masterclass at the event to explain how Asian terms like wolfberries and lotus paste can be used to describe wines.
This entire event has been organized by Ewineasia.com who have already been showcasing artisanal wines and some of the most successful wine makers in the world.
