Let’s turn all our attention to France, where the world’s only vodka is made entirely using the finest grapes. First made in 2001 and launched in February of 2003 by Diageo in United States, the grapes are harvested from handpicked vineyards across the country and are distilled five times at Distillerie de Chevanceaux in Cognac. For wine aficionados, the 5th distillation uses the traditional copper-pot still method.
The resulting vodka offers a vibrant taste of citrus with extraordinary clarity. The inspiration of CÎROC® vodka was of a master distiller, Jean-Sébastien Robicquet. He started off as an independent distiller on this delicacy, and Diageo wished to make the same product – the relationship evolved from there.
Truly Unique Vodka to surprise World Class Palates
All about etiquette, behaviour and history, grapes have been a part of French civilization for the past two millennia. Robicquet’s family has been creating cognac as well as spirits for over five centuries. All of this brings a certain level of savoir-faire, luxury, elegance, and the classic French touch that has become synonymous with French grapes. In a nutshell, the unique selling point of this delicacy is its heritage and smooth texture.
The Essence of CÎROC® – Grape Selection
The grapes for this vodka are selected using two methods. We handpick vineyards from all over France and distil it to a level that’s neutral; this makes it a fine white canvas upon which the colour is printed. To create its signature colour, white grapes are selected from the South West side of France making for great wine, which is then distilled using our concentration of alcohol and flavours.
It takes about a year for the grapes to grow, two months to make wine, with the distillation taking another two weeks; and all of this is done in a period of twelve months. CÎROC® is not aged, but one can certainly do it if they so choose.
CÎROC® comes in five distinct flavours. Apart from “Blue Dot”, this grape vodka is available in Amaretto, peach, coconut, and red berry. It can be used to make some of the finest vodka cocktails you’ll ever taste.
Meant more for doers than followers, people who effectively define trends, the largest market for CÎROC® is the United States, with a long standing history and culture of not only drinking but savouring vodka.
