The Singaporean beauty brand Skin Inc, is receiving growing attention recently and we wanted to know what all the fuzz what about. One of the main points is the new Skin Inc-Sephora collaboration which has helped the brand open 64 new locations across 40 cities in the US. Skin Inc, is known for its highly customizable skin serums and unique message.
A bit of online research and two cups of coffee later we found out that the company was created by Sabrina Tan after she realized a gap in the market for customized skin solutions. Though there are an umpteen number of brands that offer skincare products for generic skin problems, there very few brands that focus on individual customers and how each person’s skin is different from the other.
The motto of Skin Inc is – one size fits one. And it incorporates it well in all its products. There are nine serums in total, each of which are made from nine different active ingredients. They are then customized in order to address the customer’s specific skin condition. To know what serums are needed, each customer has to do a Skin Identity Check on the company’s website. This check has questions pertaining to the individual’s skin routine, lifestyle and environment. After which, each individual is recommended three serums that are the most compatible to its specific characteristics.
Nevertheless Skin Inc, has faced major issues regarding international expansion. Not all Singaporean companies have been successful in expanding outside their home country. Nonetheless Skin Inc is slowly and steadily moving forward. The company also recently launched a skincare device based on Chromotherapy, it’s an anti-aging light therapy which stimulates skin cells through different coloured LED lights. This device goes well with Skin Inc’s serums because normally skin can only absorb about 40% percent of the skincare creams but with devices like this, the absorption rate can increase to up to 90%.
The brand definitely has a unique concept and if it keeps creating such interesting collaborations it can become the next big thing in the market. Besides Skin Inc, has plans to launch in Australia very soon, and we can only hope the Australian market will love the highly customizable beauty brand.
