Manning Cartell has announced it is signed an exclusive partnership with luxury retailer Barneys New York.
The partnership will see your favourite Australian brand – worn by the likes of Amal Clooney, Bella Hadid and Margot Robbie – sold online and in seven Barneys locations across the country, all under a two-year distribution deal.
“Barneys New York is thrilled to be the exclusive partner to launch Manning Cartell in the US,” stated the fashion director of the department store, Marina Larroude. “The collection is feminine yet sophisticated with an ease that our customers will respond well to. The brand has a strong following in its native Australia and we cannot wait to introduce the collection stateside.”
The Australian brand launched in 2005 and is run by sisters Gabrielle, Cheryl and Vanessa Manning.
“We’ve very much focused on our market until now,” said Gabrielle Manning “Our partnership with Barneys New York is very much a part of our larger story,” she added. “The US has been a focus for us the past year and we are delighted to have signed this exclusive deal with the United States leading luxury department store,” she continued. “When we travel, we look at different department stores and Barneys is the US department store we wanted to be in. That was the first appointment we had. It’s nice for it to be a success. Ultimately, we’d rather partner with an amazing department store and from there maybe give some exclusivity so they can really build the brand.”
The appeal, Gabrielle believes, comes from the label’s dresses, prints, the mix of textures such as velvet and lace, and the denim pieces. “The sophisticated femininity (we offer) works for the mix that they have.”
Manning Cartell will launch its spring summer ’17 collection with Barneys New York this coming August available in various locations including New York’s Madison Avenue, Beverly Hills, Chicago and Philadelphia.
